How to Get Approved By Google Adsense ? – Some Lessons Learned.

Making money online sounds really lucrative but the truth is completely different. Making money, online or offline, is not that easy but with a smart approach you can start your ventures successfully.

When you start a blog, mostly newbies, your main aim is to start earning money from it but you don’t know that its not that easy. When I created my first blog, I had one thing in my mind – getting approved by Google Adsense and start earning money. Obviously that didn’t happen.

Get Approved By Google Adsense

For around 18 months, from the time I came to know about blogging till today, I didn’t have an Adsense account and I didn’t even needed it as I was able to earn a good amount of money. But recently my application was approved by Google Adsense. Yay !!!!

It was a pleasant surprise for me as to how can I get an approval as I had applied with a blog that received just 10 visitors daily. So here is something I learned is required to get approval from Adsense.

How to Get Approved By Google Adsense?

In order to get approved by Google Adsense, you need to focus on 3 simple things that are not at all tough and anyone can do it. If you are able to work upon these 3 factors, then you will get approved by Google Adsense.

#1. The Content of Your Blog

The biggest factor in getting an approval is your blog’s content. Your content should be top-notch and completely relevant to your blog’s topic. I was able to write meaningful posts. I wrote articles when I felt like and when I had something to write upon in a detailed manner. Not just any random post, I focused on producing detailed articles.

In my opinion, if you are able to produce high-quality content on your blog, then you won’t face much problems in getting approved by Google Adsense.

#2. Search Engine Exposure

This might be something new. If you have read one of my articles on blogging gameplan that I prepared, then you will see that I have planned on building backlinks in a new manner. Whenever I published a post, I would do 2-3 guest posts and link back to my most recently published post, with the post’s keyword as the anchor text.

This helped me in getting a good search engine exposure. Most of my posts stay on the first page of Google for the targeted keywords and that says that my strategy has worked. I was also able to get a Pagerank 2 for my blog within just one month.

So in my opinion, if you can get your blog a good impression in the eyes of search engines, most probably Google, then it would add up your chances of getting a fast approval.

#3. A Clean Design

I stayed away from adding ads on my blog. There are many blogs that write review articles with many affiliate links in it or have affiliate banners on their sidebars. I avoided that.

I maintained a clean design on my blog. I refrained from having too many affiliate links on my blog. There is another reason to stay away from affiliate links. If your blog is not getting 500-1000+ visitors, targeted visitors a day, then you won’t be making any sales. So affiliate links will only leave a bad impression.

And we all know Google doesn’t link affiliate links that much. So the 3rd factor to get approved by Google Adsense, in my opinion is maintaining a clean design of your blog so that search engine crawlers can easily navigate through your site.

Factors Not required to Get Approved by Google Adsense:

As I have got Google Adsense approved on a blog that didn’t follow any rules mentioned to get approved by Google Adsense, I can tell you some factors that don’t affect your application.

#1. Traffic to Your Blog

This won’t be a requirement for your to get approved by Google Adsense. I can say that with full confidence because my blog was getting around just 10-15 visitors a day. That’s not a very good figure. So I don’t think that there’s anything related with traffic to get your application approved.

#2. The Domain Age

This is another thing. Many times people say that in order to get approved by Google Adsense, your domain age should at least be 6 months. I am not denying the fact as Google Adsense has that rule, but sometimes it can overlook that factor, as in my case.

My blog’s domain was just 4 months old when I got approved. There are some bloggers who get Adsense approval on a 1 month old domain also. In order to force Google Adsense to look over this age rule, your should have a high-quality blog with awesome content.

Over to You:

That’s all from my side. I hope that you should have got the things you need to work upon to get approved by Google Adsense.

I am stating one thing clearly that all the things I said above are my opinions based on my personal experience. It can work for you as it worked for me but I don’t guarantee it in anyway.

If I missed something, or is there some other factor that helped you in getting Google Adsense approval, feel free to share it with us via comments below. Your feedback is much appreciated.

Happy Blogging :)

  2. I have tried everything to get adsense approved but unfortunately, haven’t succeeded.
Probably you could review my blog and tell me whats the issue.

    • Hi Anchit,
You are just like me. I didn’t get my adsense for 18 months into blogging. By my experience, the things you want come only when you stop thinking about them. So just forget about Adsense at this moment, keep on working hard and you will get an approval.
      Cheers :)

      • I have not been thinking of it but lately one of the well known blogger mate provoked the topic on why i am not moneytising my blog and therefore i was searching on this, came through your blog.
Did you visit my blog and see things?

        • Hi Anchit,
If your friends are motivating you then that’s a good thing. But Adsense is not the only way to earn money. Try out other methods and stick to the ones that give your results.
I saw your blog but I am no expert here to give any advice. I can give you one tip, try to improve your blog’s PR. The update is coming in February so if you start working on your link building now, you can get a good PR. Once you have a PR you can easily explore other income streams.
Remember Adsense is not the only thing. And getting approved from Adsense is one thing and really EARNING money from it is other.
          Cheers :)

  8. Great post arbaz!
And yes traffic does not play a very huge role in getting approved for adsense.
When I started my first website I got approved with 15 days of the registration date.
But everyone should make sure that their site has only original content and then adsense will have no other option other than to approve your application.

  9. Can you please review my blog, and reply me why i am not getting approved to adsense. The rejection message says my site is not following the google guidelines.

  10. Hey Arbaaz,
I’ve been blogging since 1 year and believe me Adsense has not yet approved my blog. I don’t even know the reason behind this. I have tried everything I could do. I followed the above steps too. In fact all the above mentioned tips have been covered in my case. Could you please review my blog if possible and tell me what am I missing ?

  11. Yea, I agree with that. Blog age is an important factor. Many Bloggers who are greedy of making money, creates a blog with just small content, and then apply for Adsense repeatedly, which will lead to permanent disabling of Adsense Account. Many newbie bloggers aren’t aware of this. Anyway, Thanks for sharing such a Great post :)

I am also I newbie to blogging. I would like to share with you all that I got my adsense approved in just 3 months. I agree with Arbaz that domain age and traffic has nothing to do with adsense. What matters is content which should be relevant to the niche of your blog. Even i got PR-1 in just two months since I started my blog. I update my blog daily with one post.
Appreciate your write up for sharing just an informative piece of info.
